After breakfast on the second morning, we continued west to Killarney, population 15,000. I find myself overusing the word charming in describing these Irish towns, but it was.

We stopped for lunch and I had my first Irish coffee in Ireland.

Killarney National Park

Immediately adjacent to the town is Killarney National Park, the first national park in Ireland, created in 1932. Just walk in. No admission fee. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the park.

After our visit to the park we drove northwest to the town of Killorglin where we were to spend two nights.
