Our last port of call before reaching Dublin was Liverpool(population: 550,000). I had expected to find a somewhat dreary city, but instead found it a clean city with a nice mixture of the old and the new. The symbol of the city is the Liver bird and it is found on displays throughout the city.

Liverpool was a walkable city, and the city center where we were joining a free walking tour was about an easy 15-20 minute walk from the cruise terminal.

The free tour lasted for 2.5 – 3 hours and covered the historical center, the Beatles trails, the new shopping and entertainment development, and the harbor.




There were some odd statues of Queen Victoria. One appears to show her vaping:
